Teak Wood - A Ship’s Staple
Teak has long been prized for its rot resistance and increase in gripability when wet. It’s the perfect wood for ships and has been used for centuries as the primary wood for decks and cabins.
Launched on December 7th, 1942 -- exactly one year after the bombing of Pearl Harbor -- the famed USS New Jersey battleship would go on to serve in WWII, the Korean War, Vietnam, and kept watch during the Cold War era. After serving 21 years of active duty (49 years in total), she was finally decommissioned in 1991.
She holds the distinction of being the most decorated battleship in US history!
Coast Guard Uniform
We first made this design for a friend who served in the coast guard and decided to make it available to all of those who have served or want to honor those who have.
We use genuine Coast Guard dress uniforms in this ring. The light blue is from the standard Coast Guard blue dress shirt and the dark navy color is from the dark blue dress trousers.
Dual Sterling Silver Inlays
We love this design with brass or silver inlays, both of which have callbacks to military service, but you can use any color of metal in this ring and it will look amazing. The dual metal inlays surround the light blue uniform and really allow the ring to stand out from the crowd.
Each Ring is Handcrafted in North Carolina
I am proud to craft each ring by hand in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is my honor to play a small role in the new "Made in USA" movement that is taking place across the nation and to do so by sharing part in our American heritage.
