"There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal. Nations, cultures, arts, civilizations - these are mortal, and their life is to ours as the life of a gnat. But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub and exploit - immortal horrors or everlasting splendors." - C.S. Lewis, Christian Apologist, 1898-1963
C.S. Lewis was a man who came to Christ "kicking and screaming". A brilliant man and mind, Lewis went on to become one of the most renown Christian thinkers of the age. In his famous quote above, he points out there are no mere mortals. Everyone we interact with is an eternal soul.
It's far to easy to get caught up in the back and forth, rooting for those that sling mud in our favor. As men, though, it's important to keep the big picture in focus and not get caught up on the muck of life.
This shirt reminds us to call people up, not just out.
