The tartan of Scottish independence. Created with traditional 18th-century colors of Lichen green and blue with a red center stripe, the Flower of Scotland tartan pattern was created to commemorate the cherished song of the same name which celebrates the victory of Robert the Bruce in 1314.

We paired this with Rosewood which is a wood often used in bagpipes.

The Flower of Scotland Ring Features:

  • Dark brown Indian Rosewood ring
  • A center ring inlay of authentic Scottish tartan

The Story Behind the Ring

The Flower of Scotland Tartan Ring Inlay

Created as a tribute to Roy Williamson, writer of the Scottish National song "The Flower of Scotland", this tartan pattern is applicable to all Scots as it is not associated with a particular clan.

The design is based on the setting and thread count of the Gunn tartan, as worn by Roy Williamson, using the traditional 18th-century colors of Lichen Green and Lochan Blue.

Dark Indian Rosewood Ring

Our Indian Rosewood has a wonderfully dark, chocolaty appearance with subtle tones of deep red. Rosewood was chosen for this design not only because it compliments the tartan colors very well, but also because it is a wood often used in bagpipes. Rosewood is a very hard wood with great moisture and rot resistance. With these features along with its excellent tonal qualities, it’s easy to see why it is such a popular wood among bagpipe enthusiasts.
