The Story Behind the Ring
Purpleheart Wood Center Ring Inlay
The Purple Heart medal is awarded to those brave soldiers who have been wounded or killed in combat, and traces its origins back to General George Washington and his Continental Army. It was, therefore, only fitting for us to include purple heart wood as the main theme and unique character of this ring. Purple heart wood is not dyed, but is naturally a deep, rich purple hue which intensifies over time.
M1 Garand Rifle Stock Wood Ring Inlay c. WWII
We decided to pair the purple heart interior of the wood ring with dark walnut from WWII era M1 Garand rifle stock wood. The determination of our wounded vets is so inspiring. Regardless of the wounds sustained, so many of them want to get back to the fight and stand shoulder to shoulder with their fellow soldiers. The M1 Garand served as the rifle for the Greatest Generation, and is more than a symbol of the fighting spirit that lives on.
Offset Metal Ring Inlay
The Purple Heart medal has a distinctive yellow gold border and we found that pairs well with our ring as well. While yellow gold was used in the original design, you can select a metal option that matches your style and your story.
