Most military rings you find online fall into one of two categories: stamped insignia rings with branch logos, or rings made from decommissioned hardware like tank barrels. Don’t get us wrong. There’s nothing wrong with either of these approaches, but it’s not what we do.
At Rustic & Main, our military collection is built around the materials that service members actually carried, wore, and stood on. Teak from WWII battleship decks. Walnut from rifle stocks held by heroes of history. Wool from uniforms that crossed oceans. These aren’t symbols of military service…they’re artifacts of it handcrafted into wedding bands you can wear on your own hands.
This collection is personal for our team. Our founder Mike served in the US Navy, and two of our more seasoned crafters are veterans. We didn’t design these rings to pander to the military community. We designed them because we’re part of it.
Below, we’ll walk through the rings in our collection, organized by branch, what materials each ring features, the history surrounding them, and how you can customize a ring that honors your specific connection to service.
Navy
Mike served in the Navy, so this is where the collection started, and where some of our rarest materials live.

The Navy
Our flagship Navy ring features three distinct inlays: historic WWII battleship teak (your choice of USS North Carolina or USS New Jersey), authentic WWII US Navy uniform wool, and a center metal inlay. The dark blue wool was the standard-issue material for Navy sailors during both World Wars, chosen because it retained heat even when wet. Paired with teak that was walked on by American sailors for decades, this ring layers two authentic Navy materials into one band.
USS Battleship Teak Rings
Teak was the primary wood for shipbuilding through the centuries. It doesn’t warp, rot, and it grips better when it’s wet. We carry teak from several historic vessels:
USS North Carolina (BB-55): This ship led every major Pacific naval offensive during WWII. She’s earned 15 battle stars and now resides in Wilmington, NC as a museum. Our teak came from the original deck planks removed during a 1998 renovation.
USS New Jersey (BB-62): This beast is the most decorated battleship in American history with 19 battle and campaign stars. She served in WWII, The Korean War, and Vietnam. Our teak was sourced directly from the Battleship New Jersey museum and the proceeds went to support the ship’s restoration.
USS Alabama, USS Texas, and USS California: Each of these ships have their own story. The USS California was sunk at Pearl Harbor, raised, repaired, and returned to fight the rest of the war. Resiliency in practice. Any of these teaks can be paired with whiskey barrel wood, bloodwood, metal inlays, or other materials. The USS North Carolina teak paired with whiskey barrel liner and copper was one of the first rings we ever made, but has since been discontinued.
Army

The Ranger
This ring was designed to honor the men and women who have served in the US Army. The centerpiece is US Army OCP uniform and has an offset metal inlay of your choice. Brass is our favorite choice of metal, but we can do whatever you would like.
Springfield 1903 & M1 Garand Rifle Stock Rings:

Springfield 1903
First adopted for the Philippine-American War, it became the standard-issue US service rifle through both World Wars. Theodore Roosevelt even carried one on his African hunting expeditions. The walnut stocks are becoming increasingly rare and this is one of the more difficult materials for us to source.

M1 Garand
The rifle that won World War II. Over 16 million Americans served in the war and many of them carried this exact rifle. Our stocks are from rifles that could no longer be safely fired, but whose walnut has only grown more beautiful with age. Both rifle stocks appear across multiple designs in the collection, including The Great War, The Western Front, and The Garand. They pair naturally with uniform fabrics, battleship teak, and metals like brass and gold.
Marines

The Leatherneck
Since 1775, the Marines have been keeping tyranny at bay, and this ring was designed as a tribute to those who've proudly donned the uniform. The Leatherneck features authentic US Marine Desert MARPAT uniform fabric as an inlay, paired with an offset bloodwood accent. MARPAT, short for Marine Pattern, is the distinctive camo pattern worn by Marines and Navy personnel alike. The bloodwood was chosen deliberately: native to the jungles of South America, its deep red tone represents the sacrifices that service demands. Due to the unique nature of the MARPAT fabric, every ring has slight variations in the pattern so no two are identical. Semper Fi.
Air Force

The Air Force
This ring honors the men and women who've served in the US Air Force with a combination of materials that tie directly to the branch's history. The original titanium design features Louisiana bogwood, ancient wood recovered from the swamps near Barksdale Air Force Base, alongside authentic USAF flight suit fabric with dual metal inlays. The newer silver edition swaps the bogwood for vintage airplane propeller wood, pairing it with the same flight suit fabric for a design that connects aviation's past with the Air Force's legacy. The flight suit fabric starts as the familiar olive drab color but darkens to a rich, deep green in the finished ring, a subtle transformation that gives each ring its own character.
Coast Guard

The Coast Guard
The guardians of the coast deserve their own tribute, and this ring delivers it with quiet confidence. The Coast Guard ring features teak wood, the same material prized by shipbuilders for centuries for its natural resistance to water and rot, paired with authentic light blue Coast Guard uniform fabric. It's a ring that connects the wearer to the maritime tradition at the heart of Coast Guard service. Crafted for those who've served close to home, protecting our shores and waterways, and for the families who know what that service means.

Custom Military Rings; Your Branch, Your Story

Every ring in our military collection can be customized, and we regularly build one-of-a-kind pieces from scratch. Our Ring Customizer lets you choose your base metal, your inlay materials, and your width. But for military rings, the real magic happens when customers send us their own materials.
We’ve worked with fabric from flightsuits, unit patches, parachute cord, challenge coins, and materials from places of personal significance. If you have a material that represents your service or the service of a loved one, reach out to our team. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be used, and if it can, we’ll treat it with the care and craftsmanship it deserves.
A Ring That Serves a Purpose

Most wedding bands sit quietly on the finger. A military ring from Rustic & Main starts conversations, about where the teak came from, what the wool meant, about the rifle that once held that walnut stock. It’s not a logo or a badge. It’s a piece of the real thing, handcrafted by a veteran-owned team in Huntersville, North Carolina. Whether you served or are looking for a unique gift for a service member or veteran in your life, this collection was made with you in mind.
