18K Yellow Gold Custom Engagement Ring with Oval Teal Sapphire and Marquise Diamond Accents

This custom engagement ring was built around a stone the customer brought to us — a deep, inky oval teal sapphire with the kind of color saturation that shifts between blue and green depending on the light. It's a stone with real presence, and the ring was designed to give it the setting it deserved.

The Laurel setting was the right choice here. A cascade of marquise and round lab-grown diamond accents extends from one shoulder, tapering down toward the band in a way that feels natural rather than symmetrical. It's an asymmetric approach that suits the organic quality of the stone — nothing rigid or perfectly mirrored, just a clean sweep of diamonds framing one side and letting the sapphire carry the other.

The metal is 18K yellow gold, which does something interesting against a teal stone. Where white gold would cool the whole ring down, yellow gold creates a warmth underneath that makes the deep blue-green read richer. The prong work is simple and well-proportioned, holding the stone securely without drawing attention away from it.
