The Alvarez

Named for Luis and Walter Alvarez, the father-and-son scientists whose research helped establish the theory that a massive asteroid impact contributed to the extinction of the dinosaurs, The Alvarez is a men’s titanium wedding band made for the geology lover, natural history enthusiast, or anyone fascinated by the story of our planet.

At the center of the design, vivid red agatized dinosaur bone is carefully hand-placed between two striking inlays of authentic Muonionalusta meteorite, an iron meteorite discovered in Sweden in 1906 and officially classified as a IVA iron meteorite.  When crushed into dust, the meteorite creates a deep black inlay accented with naturally occurring metallic flecks, providing a dramatic contrast against the rich red tones of the dinosaur bone.

Set in a sleek, durable titanium band, The Alvarez brings together materials shaped by vastly different moments in natural history. The cool grey and silver tones of titanium highlight the metallic character of the meteorite while allowing the dinosaur bone to stand out, creating a bold, high-contrast wedding band with a story millions of years in the making.
