10K gold is harder than 14K and 18K, but 14K and 18K are more pure and therefore more valuable. 18K gold has the highest purity and is the most valuable, but it is also the softest among the three. While a 10K gold ring will be nearly identical in color to a 14K gold ring, an 18K gold ring will have a richer, deeper yellow hue due to its higher gold content.

The story behind this ring
The Alvarez silver wedding band is for lovers of geology or natural history. This meteorite and dinosaur bone ring is named after the father and son Alvarez duo who were the first to theorize a meteorite caused the extinction of the dinosaurs.
Our craftsmen and craftswomen carefully hand-place the red dinosaur bone ring inlay between two inlays of authentic black meteorite. We use the oldest known meteorite, Muonionalusta Meteorite to craft this unique band. The black meteorite inlays are striking beside the red of the Agatized Dinosaur Bone, while the silver band adds a timeless element to this prehistoric design.

The Story Behind This Ring
Agatized Dinosaur Bone & Dual Meteorite Inlays
Luis and Walter Alvarez were the father-and-son scientists who first proposed that a meteorite caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. This ring is named for them.
Agatized dinosaur bone from Utah fills the center inlay — red and ancient, a fossil where minerals replaced prehistoric cells. Flanking it on both sides: Muonionalusta meteorite, one of only 40 known fragments of the oldest meteorite ever found. Two pieces of history set side by side in solid recycled silver.
