Nephrite jade is one of the two minerals classified as true jade, the other being jadeite, and has been prized across Asian, Mesoamerican, and Maori cultures for thousands of years as a stone of strength, protection, and spiritual harmony. Its dense fibrous composition makes it one of the toughest gemstones in the world, resistant to breaking even under significant impact. The deep green color comes from the presence of iron within its structure, and no two stones carry exactly the same depth or variation of tone.
The natural diamond accents flanking the jade center stone rank 10 on the Mohs hardness scale, the hardest natural substance on earth. In the Delfi, the smooth oval jade sits within a gold bezel setting, its earthy depth offset by the quiet brilliance of the diamonds beside it, two materials from opposite ends of the color spectrum chosen to bring out the best in each other.
