10K gold is harder than 14K and 18K, but 14K and 18K are more pure and therefore more valuable. 18K gold has the highest purity and is the most valuable, but it is also the softest among the three. While a 10K gold ring will be nearly identical in color to a 14K gold ring, an 18K gold ring will have a richer, deeper yellow hue due to its higher gold content.

The story behind this ring
Some of our favorite authors were Oxford Dons and we made this design as tribute to them. CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien were both Oxford Dons and best friends. During their time at Oxford, they shared drinks and helped one another write some of the most iconic books ever. This design is a class above, yet humble. Just like Lewis and Tolkien.

Since our rings are handcrafted to order, it is important for you to use one of our ring sizers and not depend on a traditional jewelers’ sizing kit to get an accurate size. Our rings are different because many are wider than traditional bands and most of our rings come in a comfort fit style.

The Oxford Don was designed as a tribute to that kind of friendship. Weathered whiskey barrel wood with dual metal inlays — brass looks great — refined enough for the quad, rugged enough for the pub.
