The Story Behind the Ring

WWI Wool Uniform

World War I Uniform Wool Ring Inlay

World War I was the first time this olive drab wool material was issued for our Army troops. During the war you could find both enlisted men and officers in this material with only insignias and black bands separating them among the ranks. The contrast between the wool pattern and 1903 Rifle Stock wood grain creates a striking combination and is guaranteed to be a conversation starter.

1903 Springfield Rifle Stock

1903 Springfield Rifle Stock Wood Ring Inlay

Though first used in the Philippine- American war in the 19th Century, the 1903 Springfield Rifle was officially adopted by the United States for use in The Great War. The 1903 Springfield Rifle Stock wood remains one of the rarest materials for us to find. The deep brown color of the wood pairs well with the World War I Uniform wool and many of our other historic materials like the battleship teaks we offer.
